Condoleezza Rice on Opportunity, Freedom, Democracy, and Education

 


Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on the issues of economic freedom, power, and income inequality at the 2012 Siebel Scholars Conference on Class Warfare.

Secretary Rice speaks about democracy, class, and the transforming power of education and the critical role of education in ensuring equal opportunity. She expresses concern that opportunity America had once afforded to all—that you can come from humble circumstances and do great things—no longer holds true, due to the failures in our education system and stresses urgent need to address issues in our education system.

Rice also discussed the need support the efforts of those around the world to attain freedom and democracy, citing the Arab Spring.
