The charges were brought to light by and corroborated by a group of other Navy Seals, not media, not bureaucrats, not politicians... Navy Seals. They first attempted to address their concerns internally within the Seal Teams, then with a Commanding Officer, only after their own careers were threatened for exposing his crimes, was it taken to NCIS.

(Orange County Register) - An attorney representing decorated Navy SEAL Edward “Eddie” Gallagher, who is accused of several war crimes including killing a teen ISIS fighter in 2017, said he will ask that the case against his client be dismissed — and if not dismissed, that the prosecutor and judge recuse themselves from the trial.
