Chris Faddis is on the cutting edge of a new food revolution. As a marketing expert in restaurant development and health care startups, he’s had an up close and personal view of cancer patients struggling to eat nutritious food.
In 2011, his wife Angela was diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer. She died only 17 months later, leaving behind Faddis and two young children. Chris and Angela were devout Catholics with a strong faith and trusted in the Lord and His plan for their family.
Faddis chronicled his family’s journey in a book, “It Is Well – Life in the Storm.” He wrote of how his wife struggled to eat and maintain her weight as she endured chemotherapy and other treatments. The family transferred her to a well-known cancer center, which focused on providing patients with healthy food.
“Usually hospital food is bad, but not in Angela’s case. Her hospital went above and beyond to meet patient’s dietary needs,” Faddis told Opportunity Lives. “Many cancer patients suffer from taste issues and a lack of appetite due to the treatments, but Angela’s hospital really tried to accommodate her changing eating habits.”
