Fatherlessness: A Symptom of Poverty
This film explores the intersections of poverty, mass incarceration, low preforming public schools, and fatherlessness. Rochester, NY is one of the poorest cities in the country. Rochester City School district has the lowest graduation rate for black males in the country. (Holzman, 2012) Aubrey Sheffield's life without a father in the City of Rochester is used as the central piece of evidence in this investigation of the impact of poverty.
