Illinois GOP gubernatorial hopeful pledges $1M of fortune for loans to small black businesses

My reply: Now, THAT'S how you fight for the black vote! My only suggestion: make sure the funds come with strong (and I mean strong) accountability measures. Of course, some conservatives will accuse him of pandering. Oh well, so what, who cares? He is using his [own money] not the party's money.  People hate what they can't replicate.

CHICAGO (AP) — The wealthy Republican running for Illinois governor is catching heat for pledging $1 million of his personal fortune to a credit union on Chicago's South Side for loans to small African-American businesses.
