First-ever New Hampshire African-American (a Republican) to run for Congress emerges

Jim Lawrence is a former member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He served three terms in the New Hampshire House. He owns a consulting firm based in Nashua, New Hampshire. He will run for the Republican Party nomination for the New Hampshire's 2nd congressional district in the 2014 elections


HUDSON, N.H. —There is a third Republican entering the race for Congress in the 2nd Congressional District and when he files Wednesday he will be the first African-American to run for Congress in the state's history.
Jim Lawrence, 42, of Hudson, served three terms in the New Hampshire House beginning in 2002. He runs a small consulting business in Nashua.
