Pennsylvania: Black Republican Harry Lewis (R), defeats Democrat Mayor Josh Maxwell

While much attention has been given to Sen. Tim Scott, Mia Love, and Will Hurd this election, less attention has been given to Harry Lewis who, according to the Daily Local News, "will become the first black Republican in Chester County to hold a state House seat."

Harry Lewis, Jr. is the new Republican member-elect of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 74.

"Republican Harry Lewis defeated Democrat and Downingtown Mayor Josh Maxwell Tuesday picking up an open that was moved from Cambria County during redistricting. Lewis beat Maxwell by 8 points, 54% to 46% with 100% of precincts reporting."
